Daylight Saving Time (or summertime as it is called in many countries) is a way of getting more light out of the day by advancing clocks by one hour during the summer. During Daylight Saving Time, the sun appears to rise one hour later in the morning, when people are usually asleep anyway, and sets one hour later in the evening, seeming to stretch the day longer.
The reason DST works is because its saves energy due to less artificial light needed during the evening hours—clocks are set one hour ahead during the spring, and one hour back to standard time in the autumn. Many countries observe DST, and many do not.
Note: Between March–April through September–November, it is summer in the northern hemisphere, where many countries may observe DST, while in the southern hemisphere it is winter. During the rest of the year the opposite is true: it is winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the southern.

I have to admit this one sound completely weird - but one taste, and I was hooked.
It's perfect for getting veggies into the kids, and its a great way to enjoy the low prices of strawberries for now.
Be sure to wash and dry the spinach well.

- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon minced onion
- 10 ounces fresh spinach - rinsed, dried and torn into bite-size pieces
- 1 quart strawberries - cleaned, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup almonds, blanched and slivered
Directions

Pancit
Easy to make, and its good for you. Preparation time is under 30 minutes.
Filipino food just has never caught on the same way Chinese food or even Thai food has. Maybe that makes this recipe cooler since its more exotic if it isn't mainstream... right?
This is easy to make and I guarantee.. you will love it. It's basically a vegetable and noodles dish with a citrus element that is just amazingly delicious and so fast and easy to make. Here is all you do...
Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounce) package dried rice noodles
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups diced cooked chicken breast meat
- 1 small head cabbage, thinly sliced
- 4 carrot, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 lemons - cut into wedges, for garnish
Directions
- Place the rice noodles in a large bowl, and cover with warm water. When soft, drain, and set aside.
- Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat. Saute onion and garlic until soft. Stir in chicken cabbage, carrots and soy sauce. Cook until cabbage begins to soften. Toss in noodles, and cook until heated through, stirring constantly. Transfer pancit to a serving dish and garnish with quartered lemons.
How to Cheat if You Don't Have Some Items...
Use a package of Instant Raman noodles if you don't have dried rice noodles handy - just don't use the flavoring packet that comes with it.
You may use garlic powder instead of garlic cloves. Season to taste, but a teaspoon is about right.
You can skip the cabbage if you don't have it, and substitute any vegetable you like... go for color.
You may substitute almost any other meat for the chicken, even several. Pork is great, so is beef. All three is amazing.
The Accompaniment
A lightly colored beer or a Riesling wine is perfect. Enjoy
