Green and Organic Cleaning Methods
We are certified for and strongly believe in green cleaning. Actually - green cleaning is what our parents and grandparents taught us, it wasn't called "green cleaning" then.. it was the only method we knew. Our cleaning products all came from the earth, and not the store. We had no choice but to harvest the natural ingredients available to us to provide a clean home. We used brooms made of grass and made our own potions to clean our homes from what was available from the land. We used lots of hot water... we still do.
The big difference between standard cleaning products and green or natural products is that many of the standard products that we see on the grocery shelves have a certain level of toxicity to them. Speaking frankly - the reason the toxicity is there is either because of the effectiveness of the chemicals in the typically petroleum based products or a lower cost to produce. One can make a good argument of the effectiveness of commercial petroleum and solvent based products as working quite well as a cleaning agent.
We are different than most cleaning companies as we learned how to clean using natural, green cleaning products and methods before anything else - then only later became acquainted with the products that are considered now to be non-green or eco-friendly. Because of this background, we have always leaned more to using the green, earth friendly methods that we learned growing up... being "green" comes natural to us.
There is much more to being "green" than just tossing a few green certified chemicals into the car each day... Our commitment to green cleaning and to our planet extends far past that as evidenced by our everyday practices. We use only natural fiber rags for our cleaning, we only use energy efficient cleaning tools such as Dyson - awarded the 2009 Carbon Trust Standard for energy efficient products and reduction of CO2.
You will also notice that 80% of our vacuums don't use bags - in order to reduce the impact of plastic/paper bags in our landfills that takes hundreds of years to fully decompose. The only bags we use are for clients with allergies that prefer vacuums with hypo allergenic collectors. Our methods have always been to walk softly on the earth.
We also strive to keep your home safe for pets and kids. Our choices of products and methods are made with their safety in mind.... from sanitation to natural ingredients whenever possible. Cleanliness and a safe home in as natural a way as possible.
Unless you have requested an antibacterial scrubbing, our methods are always primarily natural and earth friendly with any home cleaning from Filipina Maid.. You may also, however, choose for us to use only green and natural products on your home. We will be happy to do so.
